Severine's garden

In order to keep improving its products, Cultisol benefits experimental gardens which allow to organise tests of products all the year and to experiment new products as well. To optimise the success of the tests, gardens are located in different French regions: Brittany, Paris (Gardens of Paris) and South of France (www.jardinsdecoursiana.com). Discover the current tests and user tips.

Biofilia and Severine‘s Garden

March,19th: It is spring and time for Severine to plant vegetables in her garden. Her program: salads, tomatoes and potatoes! For that purpose, she used a plant groundcover for salad and a drilled growth film for salads, she also used a jute and coir plant groundcover for tomatoes, and a growth veil for potatoes. All those products are 100 % biodegradable and 100 % compostable, for a 100% Bio harvest!

While using those plant groundcovers, films and fibers, she gave up chemical weed-killers, realized water savings and created a favorable microclimate for the precocity of cultures.

Settled in March, 19th we shall follow their evolution in various periods.

April, 14th: What about our harvests that were organized in spring?

The action of films on the precocity of plants is quite obvious thanks to the comparison with and without plant groundcover, film and veil of growth.

In addition, this greater growth didn’t require the use of weed killers, and allowed Severine to save watering. Now, she can garden while protecting her environment …

The growth of salads under film and veil of growth is much more advanced than the variety put without film. It is the same for potatoes: to the right plantations which grew thanks to the film, to the left we can’t see any plantation! (See comparative photos).

Moreover, note a quite important advantage of the biodegradable films: vegetables are clean!

May 3rd: Severine can see now plant groundcovers for salad degrading little by little, to end in compost in her ground for culture (see photo).

To conclude, a small zoom on peppers accompanied with a forcing film and a jute and coir plant groundcover for garden (250g): Green but also aesthetics!
